Poetry Challenge Day 2: Space

Somewhere between now and then

Somewhere between now and then
Between you and me
A vastness exists
    Like the space between words
The hollow knowledge in the middle of the letter O
Emotion shown between the parts of an exclamation point

We are defined by the use of this space
Watch as the distance changes from
    Stranger to
    Friend to
    Lover

Each defined by the physical
    As it decreases
    emotion increases

Like a letter
    that combines with another
to create a word when combined with another
        forms a sentence
that enlightens our meaning of this space

Because we only understand it by what we construct to take its place
