“What Could Be”
There’s something about time
Always a step ahead of my heart
Teasing my mind of what could be
Each day a routine found in the stars
Twirling like a leaf in a cross wind
There’s something about time
Wanting more than this moment
Grasping, like a child playing tag
Always a step ahead of my heart
Wishing to swallow words already spoken
To hold a hand that no longer fits
